What's up dog?
Disco brings the calm vibes and gentle cuddles to the fast paced start up where I work. As a retired racing greyhound, she knows the importance of slowing down and enjoying life. Disco loves to say hi to everyone as they arrive at work before settling down in the break area on a couch. Disco always makes people laugh (and remember the importance of doing a job right) with her extremely careful couch selection process, which includes spinning in a circle for up to a minute, making sure it's exactly soft enough. If anyone is having a bad day, Disco uses the skills she learnt as a school therapy dog to cuddle up and provide calming pressure when she is given a signal. Disco has also helped me at work by providing samples to practice tests for particular bacteria (I'm a microbiologist). Last but not least, Disco is the mascot of our work blood donation team as she is a canine blood donor and encourages people to be brave for this good cause.
Purpose
Four-legged support can be shown in multiple ways and furry forms in the workplace, and this award celebrates a supreme dog that supports their people to do their best work. We are looking for a top office dog with tail wags, affectionate licks, playful walks and that special presence that boosts their owner and co-worker’s mental health while contributing to a positive work culture. They may be a work from home dog, an office dog – or a hybrid pooch!
Reach
Is the dog dedicated to improving the life of one human, or an entire team or office?
Impact
How big an impact does this dog have in the workplace? Explain how much your canine friend has improved mental health at work or office culture, and give examples of how they have made an impact.
Quirky
All dogs are special. Does your dog possess a superpower? Please note their special talent or a trick they perform on demand.
