What's up dog?
Boomer is a 7 year old Tasmanian Smithfield x Border Collie. We adopted him from the RSPCA as an eight week old puppy in March, 2016. We operate a Tasmanian timber art gallery on our Tamar Valley property in Tasmania, which is open to the public 5 days a week. Boomer is our Guest Relations Manager and is crucial in meeting and greeting every visitor who arrives. He also lets us know someone is arriving, if we happen to be elsewhere on the property. He is much loved by all who meet him. Very friendly and loving. He is gentle with young children or elderly people.
He shares the house with four cats, who adore him and irritate him day and night. He has such a wonderful tolerance of them, even when they are forcing cuddles on him at all hours. Our Sculptured Gallery has been open since November, 2018, and Boomer has never called in sick, is always at work on time and stays until the last customer has left and the gallery is closed. He is a crucial part of our business, and the most popular posts on social media, include Boomer. Our lives have been enriched since he became part of our family.
Purpose
Four-legged support can be shown in multiple ways and furry forms in the workplace, and this award celebrates a supreme dog that supports their people to do their best work. We are looking for a top office dog with tail wags, affectionate licks, playful walks and that special presence that boosts their owner and co-worker’s mental health while contributing to a positive work culture. They may be a work from home dog, an office dog – or a hybrid pooch!
Reach
Is the dog dedicated to improving the life of one human, or an entire team or office?
Impact
How big an impact does this dog have in the workplace? Explain how much your canine friend has improved mental health at work or office culture, and give examples of how they have made an impact.
Quirky
All dogs are special. Does your dog possess a superpower? Please note their special talent or a trick they perform on demand.
