Mallee girl
Breed: Kelpie
Barking from: Melbourne Victoria
Job title: Working sheep dog
What's up dog?
Mallee girl is a 22 month old trainee working dog. She is learning to herd sheep so she can preform demonstrations to the general public. In fact she has already done some working dog demos.
People love watching her learn and get lots of enjoyment being about to hear about working dogs. I give a talk first and educate people about choosing pet’s carefully, explaining that working breeds are not for everyone and need a lot of mental stimulation as well as exercise. After the demo they get to Pat and have photos with her. I had an interesting show the other week when one of the sheep jumped the fence, I explained that she is young and needs to learn to slow down when herding sheep.
