What's up dog?

Banjo is such a happy, loving boy, who absolutely loves to chat and kiss you all over! He is working with our students at Autism Qld School while he is learning to the skills needed to be an Animal Assisted Therapy Dog like his sister. He teaches me/us to pause, we need patience, perseverance, and resilience as we navigate the developing skills he needs. He just loves coming to school and 'his' kids' We are learning how to allow him to be Banjo while still meeting the students needs, by supporting their needs as much as they support his, which of course is play and food. We have a deal with the students, they are allowed to share their apples with him, but he can only have the same amount that they eat. In order for Banjo to be able to swim with the students they have to follow the teachers instructions first, then when they have done a skill, Banjo can jump in with them, he swims to get out and they do their next skill Banjo's impact on my life and that on the lives of our students is that everyone can make mistakes, and he models this for them, the ability to forgive whoops and show unconditional affection, always happy to see me/them, and is a great vessel for teaching students skills about dogs and life.
