Join a busy team as a recruitment consultant working for this global transport company based in Newcastle. You will be responsible for finding and hiring the right talent to keep operations running smoothly. You will manage the full recruitment process for roles such as bus drivers and mechanics, ensuring candidates meet both regulatory and company standards. By understanding the fast-paced nature of the transport industry, they help build a reliable workforce that supports efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
• HR Records & Administration: Manage accurate personnel files for all employees, maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and ensure HR documentation meets internal and legislative standards.
• Recruitment & Onboarding: Collaborate with hiring managers to meet staffing needs, manage the end-to-end recruitment process—including advertising, shortlisting, interviews, reference checks, and medical coordination—and facilitate onboarding, induction, and uniform distribution for new hires.
• Induction & Training Support: Deliver corporate induction presentations, ensure smooth transition of new employees into the business, and provide administrative support to the Training Department as needed.
• Project & Policy Support: Participate in HR initiatives, compile research and documentation to support policy development and decision-making, and contribute to continuous improvement in HR processes and employee engagement strategies.
• Performance & Employee Relations: Support performance management procedures by preparing relevant documentation and attending meetings, while also responding to internal and public recruitment-related inquiries.
• Workplace Health, Safety & Compliance: Promote a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to OHS policies, assisting in hazard identification and resolution, and encouraging a culture of safety awareness and accountability across all teams.

Experience:
• Proven experience in a comparable HR administration or Recruitment position
• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field, with a solid understanding of relevant employment legislation, including the National Employment Standards, Awards, and Agreements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
• Highly organised with strong time management and problem-solving abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities with confidence and efficiency.
• Demonstrates a proactive, flexible, and positive attitude, contributing to a constructive and solutions-focused workplace culture.
