What's up dog?
Snowy had a challenging start to life. His first family brought him home during the lockdowns but lacked the time for proper training and socialization. Left outside all day, Snowy was exposed to constant noise from nearby construction, which instilled a lasting fear of loud sounds. As a result, he developed anxiety and reactivity, including chasing cars, bicycles, and scooters. His family struggled to manage his behavior and decided to rehome him. We adopted Snowy when he was 1.5 years old. Our initial goal was to integrate him into our family, which includes our first dog, Sherlock. Snowy was malnourished, so we began by providing him with a nutritious diet, which he enjoyed. We then focused on addressing his anxiety and reactivity through consistent training. We consulted various trainers and exposed him to social situations, including interactions with cars, people, and children. We spent hours with him on quiet roads, rewarding positive behavior with treats, and played loud noises at home to help him become accustomed to them. Thanks to our persistent efforts, love, and attention, Snowy has transformed into a confident dog who is no longer afraid of strangers, enjoys walks, loves playing with other dogs, and happily travels with us. Snowy has not only brought immense joy into our lives but has also taught us patience and the importance of celebrating small victories every day.
We believe that no dog should be left behind.
