What's up dog?

Elwood has impacted my life by introducing me to my passion of scent work to the theme of Search and Rescue. In 2021 (when Elwood was just barely 12 months old) we joined Search and Rescue Canines (SARC) in Angle Park, South Australia. SARC trained primarily in Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) but would dabble in Land Search and Rescue. Ultimately, this is where we found our true passion of searching for lost persons in a more wide area style. In 2022 we left SARC and were accepted into our current team, SASES Dog Operations Unit (DOU). In DOU we are able to train to our full capacity. Currently we are aiming to move into our full role of an operational team somewhere around October. But everyday I am so impressed and astounded by this boy and how hard he tries for me. His enthusiasm and joy everytime we get ready for training makes it all worth it. I know that even if we never find an actual missing person, he will put in 110% effort, and seeing him happy at work makes me so happy.

This year, we wanted to give the love back to our communities.

Every year, our campaign is supported and celebrated by a variety of incredible charities across Australia, all of whom mahi tirelessly to make a positive impact for dogs in their respected communities.

This year, the winner of the 2024 People Choice's Award will have the value of their doggy prize pack matched and donated to a charity of their choosing.

In addition, every voter will have the opportunity to donate towards one of the 3 incredbile mental health charities or dog organisations.
