Frankie

People's Choice Finalist

Frankie

Breed: Dachshund

Barking from: Melbourne, VIC

What's up dog?

Unfortunately, last year, our fifth member of our family, Sasha, passed away. She was our families first dog and Sasha (Samoyed) was a truely loved member of our family.

I was very hesitant to have another dog in our lives - thinking (correctly) that nothing could replace Sasha.

Whilst holidaying in Queensland over Christmas, we saw, and fell in love with this little, magnificent Dachshund. Nothing could be further from Sasha in looks - but surprisingly, her temperament was very similar.

We named her Frankie and arranged to have her shipped to Melbourne.

She has filled a massive hole in our lives, especially my eldest daughter, who was away when we had to put Sasha down. She has taken to Frankie, almost believing that she is her mother.

Frankie has been an unbelievable tonic for both my daughter and me. I don't know if depressed is the right word for the way we were feeling, but Frankie has cured both my daughter and me. Whilst Frankie isn't a replacement to Sasha, she is now a much loved member of our family.
