Annual job ad change
2023 was a tale of two halves. The first six months saw strong recruitment activity, however, from mid-year onwards, the number of contract and temp roles declined markedly. Permanent roles remained reasonably steady until election time.
Since the election and a new government, recruitment in the sector has stalled markedly. With pressure on the government's fiscal budget, 2024 is likely to be a challenging year for those in the government sector with reductions in the workforce.
